Wind Power
Full Circle Solar installs wind power systems for homes, farms, and business, primarily in rural areas. We have experience with turbines rated between 500 watts and 10 kW.
Electricity from wind energy is produced by wind turbines, and the power feeds into the utility’s electricity grid.
Is wind power right for you? Check these points and see:
- To efficiently use a wind power system you must have wind speeds of at least 20 mph for an average of 8 hours a day. Wind data for your area is useful in discussing a system installation. This data may be available from you local airport or area weather station.
- The tower for the wind turbine should be 60-100 feet tall to take best advantage of the wind resource.
- Wind power is typically installed in rural areas. If you are located in an urban area chances are low that a wind power system will be allowed by the governing agency, such as city or county.
- In the greater Bay Area, we are installing wind power systems in Alameda County, Livermore and the North Coast.
